Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “cowardly silence” on the reported ‘abduction’ of an Arunachal boy by the PLA troopers of China.
Rahul Gandhi said that the silence of PM Modi shows that “he does not care” about the ‘abducted’ Arunachal youth.
“With just days to go ahead of Republic Day, an Indian has been abducted by China. We are with the family of Miram Taron and will not lose hope, will not give up,” Rahul Gandi said.
“PM’s cowardly silence is his statement – he does not care,” Rahul Gandhi added.
The Indian Army has reportedly contacted the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China in regards to the ‘abducted’ Arunachal boy.
“Regarding the incident of missing youth Miram Taron from Arunachal Pradesh, it is informed that on receipt of information, the Indian Army immediately contacted PLA,” reports quoted defence sources as saying.
The Indian Army has sought assistance from the PLA to ‘locate’ the youth and “return him”.
“Assistance from PLA has been sought to locate individual on their side and return him as per established protocol,” sources added.
Notably, troopers of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) allegedly ‘abducted’ a 17-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
The ‘abducted’ youth has been identified as Miram Taron of Zido village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district.
The ‘abducted’ youth’s friend escaped from the PLA troopers and reported the matter to the authorities concerned.
