Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Sunday urged all elected local body representatives of the BJP to play a pro-active role in promoting Pan-Arunachal for peaceful and harmonious growth of the state.
Chief minister Khandu said this while addressing a day-long orientation programme organized by the Arunachal Pradesh BJP for its newly elected zilla parishad members and corporators at the Art of Living Ashram near Itanagar.

Khandu also called upon the party representative to maintain political professionalism.
The Arunachal Pradesh chief minister in his speech urged the women leaders to come forward and take the lead from the front.
He also assured early devolution of power, authority and responsibilities to the panchayati raj institutions (PRIs) of the state in accordance with Article 243 (G) of the 73rd Amendment Act.

Khandu earlier announced that the process of devolution of powers to PRIs would begin from the forthcoming budget session of the state Legislative Assembly.
BJP state president Biyuram Wahge urged the elected local body representatives to take the flagship programmes and welfare schemes of both central and state government to the doorsteps of the public.
“All the schemes are meant for the upliftment of masses,” he said.
Wahge also cautioned that disciplinary action would be taken against all those found guilty of indulging in anti-party activities.
Among others, the orientation programme organized under the guidance and expertise of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, an NGO was attended by the BJP’s northeast in-charge, Ajay Jamwal.
