Sensation prevailed at a village in Arunachal Pradesh after villagers found a metal instrument of the size of a laptop with Chinese writing on its cover, according to an NDTV report.
The object believed to be of Chinese origin, has been found at a village in Kamle district of the State, around 100 kilometres from the border with China, the report said quoting local police sources.

Locals found the device on Wednesday in Kamle district, 140 km from state capital Itanagar, which according to police could be a Chinese aerial surveillance device or a high-altitude weather observation device, the report stated.
The report also stated that forensic experts are investigating the device to ascertain its nature and purpose.
Meanwhile, concerned authorities in New Delhi have been informed of the mysterious device, the report added.

According to Arunachal Pradesh police the region where the villagers found the mysterious device is a remote and inaccessible area which could be reached only after trekking for at least five hours, the report further said.
