MTB Arunachal 2018: Actor Salman Khan contributes Rs 22 lakh

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who launched the promos of the world’s toughest terrain biking i.e. MTB Arunachal 2018 on Thursday, has contributed Rs 22 lakh as prize money.

Informing this Arunchal Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who has also uploaded the cheque signed by the superstar for MTB Arunachal on behalf of the Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation, on his Twitter handle on Friday stated:  “The love of Salman Khan for Arunachal tourism doesn’t stop. He contributes ?22 lakhs as prize money for MTB Arunachal through Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation.”

It may be mentioned that promos of MTB Arunachal 2018 were launched by Salman Khan in Mumbai in the presence of Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Thursday.

Union Minister Rijiju also tweeted on Saturday: “It’s very rare that a celebrity instead of charging fees is extending financial support, giving free promotion and taking time to participate. People of Arunachal Pradesh will remain forever grateful to Salman Khan for such love & affection!”

MTB Arunachal is thought to be the World’s toughest Mountain Terrain Biking. International famed cyclists will converge at Itanagar on November 14 to take part in the race.

The categories of the race are Open Men Solo, Open Women Solo, Team of Two, Master’s 40+, Student’s , Best Arunachal Rider, Promising Rider, Para Rider.

The MTB Arunachal is a mountain bike race held in Arunachal Pradesh which covers about 730 Kms in seven days starting from the beautiful Mechuka Valley till Itanagar.

On the way the riders will pass through the dense monsoonal forests, river beds, vast expansive land and rest for one day in the hauntingly beautiful Apatani plateau Ziro.

This is a race being organized by the riders themselves and is a non-profit venture. The event is the brain child of MoS Kiren Rijiju.

The State Government has come out in a big way to assist in making this event a success.
