Union law and justice minister Kiren Rijiju has advised the tourists to gather proper information regarding snowfall before visiting Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
The advice from Union minister Rijiju, who represents the Arunachal West constituency, comes after several areas in Tawang have witnessed heavy snowfall.

The tourists fail to move towards their destinations as the roads become dangerous to drive.
Union minister Rijiju while sharing a video on his Twitter handle, asking the tourists to be cautious, said the temperature in Tawang “goes down to -25”.
Rijiju said heavy snowfall has been reported between Baishakhi, Sela Pass and Nuranang.

Tawang, which is the tourist hotspot in Arunachal Pradesh bordering China on December 22, 2021 witnessed the first snowfall of this season.
While the snowfall brought smiles to the faces of tourists, locals have to prepare for a harsh winter with temperatures dipping below zero degrees Celcius.

On December 22, 2021, the temperature in the Tawang district of Arunachal was recorded at -2 degrees Celcius.
After Tawang witnessed the first snowfall, tourists took to the streets and valleys to enjoy the snowfall as Tawang turned white. Many vehicles reportedly got stuck on the roads due to heavy snowfall.
