The Indian army on Sunday organized a ‘Know Your Army’ Mela at Menchuka in Arunachal Pradesh’s Shiyomi district.

The two-day mela began on Saturday as part of the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

The army organized the mela to spread awareness about the armed forces among civil society and motivate youths to join them.

A wide range of state-of-the-art military weapons and equipment were displayed in the mela.

Army personnel demonstrated the technological advancement and military might of the country before the audience.

School and college students also got to handle real weapons under the supervision of army personnel.

About  328 students and youths of the adjoining areas attended the mela.

Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly Pasang Dorjee Sona also visited the event and praised the effort undertaken by the army.
