For this purpose, the State government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
As per the MoU, the State government will collaborate with the IUCN to prepare the IUCN’s Red List Assessment for all orchids in the State.
The MoU was signed between the principal chief conservator of forest (PCCF) and head of forest forces (HoFF), Manmohan Singh Negi and Country Representative, IUCN India, Dr Vivek Saxena at the PCCF Office, here.

This project is spread across 12 months, wherein training workshops for Red List Assessment will be conducted by experts from IUCN Red List Unit and Species Programme Headquaters, Gland in Switzerland.
