WTI with collaboration with Arunachal Forest department and David Shepard Wildlife Foundation took the initiative to provide immediate relive to elephant crop raiding victims.
“When the Forest department estimates the damage they send us a list of names and we provide them with rice,” said WTI member Ayusman Singh.
“This is better than giving money as with rice at least the family can have food for months. Initially it was 50 kgs but now they have increased it to 100 kgs this year. Twenty-six families have got 100 kgs of rice for their damaged crops in the paddy field,” he added.
