Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday directed the district heads and local authorities to be vigilant and prepared for tackling flood and landslides.
Different parts of Arunachal Pradesh have been affected due to flood and landslide triggered by incessant rains.
Several roads, bridges, culverts and houses across the state have been damaged in the natural disaster.

There are reports of loss of livestock while a woman has been missing in West Kameng district after a flash flood on Sunday.

Khandu asked all the link departments to coordinate and work out for a State Emergency Mitigation Plan under the supervision of the chief secretary.
He directed the disaster management department to issue instructions to all the district administrations to provide sufficient relief materials, rations and drinking water to the flood-affected people.
He said that if necessary, defence sorties should be used for airdropping essential commodities in areas where surface communication has been disrupted.
The Arunachal Pradesh CM further directed officials to provide medical teams and medicines to the flood victims. Issuing strict directives to district authorities and the disaster management department, Khandu said: “No human life should be lost for which extra precautionary measures and care should be taken.”
He hinted at optimal utilisation of NDRF and SDRF, available police and paramilitary forces for rescue and evacuation of the flood-affected people.
He also sought restoration works for basic amenities such as water supply, electricity and roads to the flood-affected areas as and when the weather conditions improve.
Khandu directed the finance department to immediately place additional funds to the disaster management department for mitigating the crisis situation.
Khandu, expressing sorrow on the report of a missing woman at Kaspi in West Kameng district asked the deputy commissioner to involve the NDRF and SDRF in the search and rescue operations and prayed for her safety.
He also appealed to the people of the state to stay alert while travelling during the monsoon and advised those residing in low-lying and landslide-prone areas to shift to safer places.
