As a measure to curb Covid19, East Siang deputy commissioner Dr Kinny Singh in an order directed the shopkeepers and vendors to sell goods only to those wearing masks.

In order to minimize the risks arising due to the unprecedented situation created by the second wave of Covid19, the East Siang district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has issued some fresh guidelines and regulations to be implemented with immediate effect.

East Siang deputy commissioner Dr Kinny Singh vide an order on Monday regulated the market opening and closing timing from 8 am to 6 pm in the entire district.

To ensure availability of essential items all business establishments including shops and sabzi mandis shall be operational from 8 am to 6 pm.

A fine of Rs 2000 shall be imposed on those found operating beyond the stipulated time, the order said.

The deputy commissioner directed all restaurants, bakeries, eateries, etc to offer only ‘take-away’ services and no ‘dine in’ services shall be permitted.

Salons/ barbershops should operate only 50% capacity and ensure that the customers go through thermal screening and wear masks, failing which a fine of Rs. 2000 will be imposed and it also may lead to the sealing of the shop and cancellation of trading license, the order read.

The deputy commissioner has further directed the bank authorities to sanitize their ATMs regularly while a temporary ban has also been imposed on all kinds of games and sports competitions/tournaments.

Singh has further urged the citizens to avoid hosting big indoor gatherings and sought their cooperation in making East Siang a Covid-free district.

She also appealed to all eligible to get themselves vaccinated against the virus.
