“We will have to be more vigilant and have SOPs in place to ensure there is proper screening and absolute quarantine,” he said.

District medical officer (DMO) Dr Tage Kanno said post-April 14, the quarantine facilities will be categorized as COVID19 care centre for rapid test negative and asymptotic people, dedicated COVID centre for rapid test positive and asymptotic cases and a dedicated COVID hospital for confirmed and symptomatic cases.

“Contact tracing of people coming from outside the state after April 14 will be our baseline for quarantine,” he said while requesting the administration to depute responsible officers for the job and allow the medical team to work dedicatedly for clinical cases.

EAC Bamin Tarang informed that a committee has already been formed for facilitating and monitoring quarantine centers in the district.

“The district will also frame its own SOP keeping in mind the local conditions for receiving and transporting people coming into Ziro after April 14,” he informed.

Among others, superintendent of police Dr Hemant Tiwari, additional deputy commissioner Nending Chatung and other administrative officers attended the meeting.
