The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has decided to put the Prelims and Mains of the Combined Competitive Examination-2020 on hold which was slated for May and October respectively.
The Preliminary examination of the Combined Competitive Examination was scheduled to be held on May 17 while the Mains was to be held from October 9 to 17 this year.
The decision to postpone the exams was taken as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, APPSC secretary AR Talwade said in a statement.
The commission has also decided to provide the candidates one more opportunity for filling the online application forms who are interested in applying for the posts of junior engineer (civil) under the Rural Works Department and senior personal assistant under the civil secretariat and APPSC.
The commission in the statement said the date for filling the forms would be notified in due course of time.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen has volunteered to contribute 30 percent of his gross salary of a month to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in his bid to help the government in combating the coronavirus.
Kojeen also appealed to all like-minded people to come forward to contribute as per one’s capacity so as to strengthen the hands of the State government as well as the district administration during the period of national crisis.
Lauding the efforts of the State government and frontline warriors like the police and other security personnel, healthcare workers and other agencies of essential services, the Commissioner has urged all people religiously adhere to the guidelines issued by the government during the lockdown period.
