At a time when the economic impact of COVID-19 pandemic continues to ripple many across the country and state, a few good Samaritans in Arunachal Pradesh are going a step ahead and helping their tenants by waiving off their rents for a period of one month.

Accordingly, setting examples for many others to emulate in this hour of grave crisis due to nationwide lockdown, one Dumsap Dada, a widow from Seppa in East Kameng district, has decided to waive off one month’s rent for two of her shopping complexes which are at present closed due to the nationwide lockdown.

East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSCWO) chairman Dahey Sangno who took to twitter to inform this said that the noble deed of Dada would cost her around Rs 90 thousand.

“Smti Dumsap Dada, a widow from Seppa in East Kameng distt, has decided to waive off one month rent of her two shopping complexes closed due to #21daylockdown as we fight #CoronavirusOutbreakindia. This will cost her ?90k,” Sangno tweeted.

Another landowner Tadar Babin also announced to waive off one month’s rental fees of his shops which are presently on lease.

Besides a large number of people, chief minister Pema Khandu has also lauded Dada and Babin for their generosity.
