Tirap district administration on Sunday arranged free transportation facility for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) aspirants of the district.

The transportation facility was made available for the students from Tirap headquarters Khonsa and they were taken till Dibrugarh in Assam- where the examination centre was located.

It may be mentioned here that Khonsa and Dibrugarh are 250 kilometres apart from each other.

The bus, moreover, also took in students from Deomali- another town of the district through which the bus travelled.

Speaking on the occasion, Tirap DC Bhanu Prabha said, “Since most parents were not able to afford the expenses to send their children to the examination centre in private vehicles, the district administration along with district education department decided to pitch in and help.”

“Considering the importance of a student’s career and the problems faced by the parents, this is the least we could do,” the DC added.

She also informed that all necessary SOPs as mentioned by the Ministry of Home Affairs was followed by the students during the travel.
