Arunachal Pradesh skill development and trade & commerce minister Tumke Bagra, Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak and Aalo East MLA Kento Jini discussed threadbare with all HODs of West Siang district on various development and key issues at the deputy commissioner’s office at Aalo on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Bagra said that sericulture is one of the sectors that can be a self-sustenance venture for the people and effort will be made to take up more tangible schemes under it in the district.
He stressed on availability of doctors in their places of posting to take care of the patients in this peak season of ailments among the people.
Responding to establishments of mini secretariats, ITI and other infrastructures, Bagra said that land scarcity is posing a major problem and much of the government lands have not been acquired.
The minister was given a rousing reception by the public and officers on his first visit to Aalo after being inducted as a minister in the Pema Khandu-led government.
Participating in the discussion, Karbak said that the government has done away with schemes on a piecemeal basis and set a target to submit all need-based schemes and asked the officers not to prepare schemes at individual levels and assured all effort to develop Aalo town.
He also announced Rs 10 lakh for taking up toilets and other utilities for the upcoming women police station at Aalo. Jini said that a vision plan has been drawn to revive the lost glory of Aalo, the oldest district headquarters, and appealed to all to work as a team to fulfil the dream.
He insisted on transparency, work quality, consultation and fairness in every work.
The HoDs who participated in the discussion stressed on having a specialist and a mortuary in General Hospital, strengthening the police force of 117, posting of science and Hindi teachers, creating a land bank, improving township road spanning 95 m, ending water scarcity in the town, dragging of electricity in isolation and grid mode from Siru Hydel Project, replacement of existing old power equipment, etc.
In another meeting held under the chairmanship of West Siang deputy commissioner Swetika Sachan, all important schemes/projects of various departments under Budget Estimate 2019-20 were placed on table and all need-based viable and feasible schemes were finalised after a threadbare discussion with all departments.
