This development is a proud moment for the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA), which has been advocating for high-altitude training facilities in the region.

The Tawang stadium has also received the prestigious “FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf – FIFA Quality” certification from Labosports, a FIFA-approved testing laboratory.
Situated at an elevation of over 10,000 feet, the stadium offers unique training conditions to enhance athletes’ endurance and performance.
The idea of utilizing Tawang as a high-altitude training hub for national teams was initially proposed by Kipa Ajay, a prominent figure in APFA. With AIFF’s endorsement, this vision is now becoming a reality.

Furthermore, the nearby outdoor stadium in Jang has also secured FIFA’s “Quality” certification, solidifying Tawang’s position as a premier destination for high-level football.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his delight on X, stating that the certification underscores the state’s commitment to football development and highlights the role of quality infrastructure in nurturing young talent.
Gallant Sports and Infra, the company responsible for the stadium upgrade, has installed state-of-the-art Superb 52 13PU turf in both venues.
This advanced turf, with its superior cushioning and weather-resistant properties, ensures optimal playing conditions for athletes, meeting international standards.
