“We want all our tourists to feel safe and enjoy their stay at Ziro during the ZMF,” Takar told the gathering.

He also said this shall require the cooperation of all the stakeholders.

EAC cum town magistrate Bamin Tarang, while reviewing the security arrangements said that a temporary police beat office shall be set up in the vicinity of the ZMF ground to tackle any untoward incident.

“The festival committee shall also arrange sufficient volunteers for security and traffic management to add to the arrangements of the district administration,” he added.

“With more than 25 campsites being set around to accommodate tourists, it is necessary to regulate and monitor these sites,” he said.

“The campsite owners shall register their camps with the DTO office and also provide the list of campers to the office,” he further added.

Representatives of the landowners submitted a list of strategic points where security personnel have to be deputed.

They sought a time limit for DJ nites that sometimes cause problems for the villagers around.

Representatives of Mudang Tage Youths volunteered their support to the organizers and district administration for the peaceful conduct of the festival.

Superintendent of Police Hemant Tiwari said he will call another meeting with all the ZMF committee members, hoteliers and owners of the homestays for a detailed briefing on the security issues.

The meeting was attended by Festival Director Bobby Hano, DTO Dikchu Raji, executive engineers of PHED, UD and Power, DMO, members of Meha Pvlo and Biri Area Development Committee.

One of the world’s largest outdoor music festivals, ZMF records more than 10,000 footfalls every year.

This year’s edition starts September 26.
