Farmers engaged in cultivation in the high altitude areas of Tawang received training on how to farm high-value crops and mushroom.

The Defence Research Laboratory (R&D) under the defence ministry conducted a workshop cum training programme at the Changbu village in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday.

The farmers received information on how they can cultivate high-value crops and mushroom by adopting modern methods of farming.

Farmers in Tawang depend on the traditional method of cultivation and do not have much knowledge about the innovative and scientific methods of farming to yield a good crop.

The harsh weather conditions together with lack of irrigation facilities and high transportation pose problems for these farmers.
