The Border Roads Organisation has extended road connectivity upto Taksing in the Indo-China border in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, said a Border Roads Organisation (BRO) statement.

The BRO completed the extension of the difficult Tama Chung ChungTaksing road beyond Lemiking on May 9, after nine years of painstaking work, the statement added.

The road now connects a 80-kilometre stretch between Taksing circle along the international border with Lemiking.

Commander of 23 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) Col Tanish Kumar said in the statement that a BRO team recently drove from Lemiking to Taksing for spot verification.

Work on the road began in 2009 and continued despite challenges such as inhospitable terrain, inclement weather conditions with incessant precipitation for almost nine months a year, said BRO statement.
