The lockdown in Itanagar Capital Region has been extended for two more weeks. 

The order of extension of lockdown has been given by Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom. 

The extended lockdown will come into force from 5am of May 17 and will continue till 5pm of May 31. 

The decision to impose the lockdown in ICR was taken by the Arunachal Pradesh in view of the rising cases in the area.

The Itanagar Capital Region comprises of ItanagarNaharlagun and Banderdewa. 

Notably, the SOPs announced earlier will continue to stay in force during the extended period of lockdown in Itanagar. 

Shops dealing in essential items like grocery, vegetables, meat, etc will be allowed to trade between 6am and 12pm. 

On the other hand, there will be total restriction on movement of individuals between 2:30pm and 5am.

Meanwhile, night curfew in Arunachal Pradesh gets enforced from 6:30pm and continues till 5 in the morning.
