Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra on Thursday met Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat in New Delhi and they discussed matters related to border roads, insurgency and strategic security.

The Arunachal Pradesh Governor, who is on an official tour to the national capital, during the meeting, emphasized strengthening the road communication in the border areas of Arunachal Pradesh.

Governor Mishra also shared the recent development in the strategically important Miao-Vijaynagar road with the CDS.

The Chief of Defence Staff assured the Arunachal Pradesh Governor of full support from the ministry of defence in the development of border roads in the state and emphasized the urgent need for its fast development.

The Arunachal Pradesh Governor also called for more concerted efforts from the central government and defence ministry in meeting the requirement of road arteries network up to borders and remote districts.

Mishra shared his observation about the lone Sainik School of Arunachal Pradesh, which is located at Niglok in East Siang district and called for possible help from the Sainik School Society.

CDS Rawat pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to open 100 new Sainik Schools in the country.

He said Arunachal Pradesh must bid for new Sainik schools and plan to provide full infrastructure for the new Sainik schools.

These schools should be located in border districts and these must be developed on the day schooling pattern with a high standard of imparting quality education and good physical and sports training, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) said.
