Arunachal Pradesh government to offer financial assistance to NGOs in state

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has directed the deputy commissioners to identify the different NGOs working for different causes in their respective districts.

The state government has decided to offer financial assistance to such NGOs so as to ensure that they can carry on their welfare activities smoothly.

The chief minister on Tuesday visited a drug rehabilitation centre in Aalo in the West Siang district run by mothers whose children have been addicted to drug abuse.

These mothers have come together to form Mother’s Vision, an NGO that works towards the drug menace by educating people on drug abuse.

With sheer effort, this NGO has been able to rehabilitate several youths addicted to drug and substance abuse in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Pema Khandu said, “I appreciate the mothers who are working towards making the society drug free. These mothers have themselves suffered seeing their children being consumed by drug abuse.”
