The Arunachal Pradesh government has constituted a committee to conduct research on contributions of freedom fighters from the state. 

Based on the research conducted by the panel, the Arunachal Pradesh government will publish a document on freedom fighters to commemorate the 50th statehood day.

The five-member committee is headed by deputy chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh Chowna Mein. 

The committee will collect documents, journals and visit places of historical interest for the research works.

After necessary research, the committee will submit a list of freedom fighters from the state. 

“People from our state and the North East region sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle. Unfortunately, their contributions were not recognised to date and their stories of valour are not known to the outside world,” Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein said.
