The Arunachal Pradesh government has extended the ongoing COVID-induced restrictions till September 1 to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
“The COVID-19 situation in the State has been reviewed. It was observed that though the number of COVID-19 patients and positivity rate is declining and plateauing in some districts and the State as a whole, the overall situation still remains a matter of concern, for which adequate measures are still necessary for containment of COVID-19 across the State,” said the ‘order’.

Rajeev Verma, chairman of State Executive Committee, Arunachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority, on Saturday, ordered that “the directives issued vide this office order dated 30th June 2021 shall remain in force till 5 am of 1st September 2021.”
There are 3,954 active COVID-19 cases in the State. The positivity rate stands at 8.22 per cent, while recovery rate slightly improved to 91.31 per cent and 3 more casualties.
