The Arunachal Pradesh government has extended the ongoing COVID-induced restrictions till September 1 to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

โ€œThe COVID-19 situation in the State has been reviewed. It was observed that though the number of COVID-19 patients and positivity rate is declining and plateauing in some districts and the State as a whole, the overall situation still remains a matter of concern, for which adequate measures are still necessary for containment of COVID-19 across the State,โ€ said the โ€˜orderโ€™.

Rajeev Verma, chairman of State Executive Committee, Arunachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority, on Saturday, ordered that โ€œthe directives issued vide this office order dated 30th June 2021 shall remain in force till 5 am of 1st September 2021.โ€

There are 3,954 active COVID-19 cases in the State. The positivity rate stands at 8.22 per cent, while recovery rate slightly improved to 91.31 per cent and 3 more casualties.
