Arunachal Pradesh assembly polls: Re-polling ordered for four polling stations after violence

ITANAGAR: Following reports of violence, re-polling has been ordered for four polling stations in Arunachal Pradesh.

Of these four polling stations in Arunachal Pradesh, where re-polling have been ordered, one is located in Kurung Kumey and three in Upper Siang.

This was informed by Arunachal Pradesh chief electoral officer (CEO) Pawan Kumar Sain.

Sain stated that re-polling will occur at Langte Loth in the Nyapin assembly constituency of Kurung Kumey district, as well as Bogia-Siyum, Dingser and Lengi under the Nacho assembly constituency in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Instances of attempted electronic voting machine (EVM) destruction were reported at all four polling stations.

“We have identified the individuals responsible for attempting to damage or seize the EVMs. Appropriate action has been taken against them,” the Arunachal Pradesh CEO stated.
