Namsai: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday visited the office of the Chief Engineer, Project Brahmank, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and reviewed ongoing works, achievements and initiatives aimed at improving road connectivity and strengthening strategic infrastructure across the state.

Khandu was received by Chief Engineer, Project Brahmank, Pankaj Goyal upon his arrival.

During the visit, Goyal briefed the Chief Minister on various ongoing projects and activities being undertaken by Project Brahmank. The briefing highlighted the BRO’s role in developing and maintaining strategic road networks and improving connectivity across the difficult and remote terrain of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Chief Minister was also apprised of the organisation’s initiatives in environmental conservation, social responsibility and personnel welfare. These included tree plantation drives under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, Swachhata Abhiyan, International Yoga Day programmes and various environmental awareness activities.

As part of the visit, Khandu planted a sapling, reaffirming his commitment to the conservation and protection of Arunachal Pradesh’s fragile natural environment.

The Chief Minister also interacted with officers and personnel of Project Brahmank and appreciated their dedication and contribution to nation-building, particularly their work in challenging and remote parts of the state.

He acknowledged the difficulties faced by BRO personnel while carrying out infrastructure projects in Arunachal Pradesh and said their efforts were crucial to strengthening connectivity and development in the state.

During the programme, Col Ashish Raisinghani presented Khandu with a book highlighting the tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh. The publication features the state’s mountain landscapes, lesser-known destinations, natural attractions and opportunities for tourism development.

The visit also provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination between the Arunachal Pradesh government and the BRO on infrastructure development, connectivity, environmental conservation and other areas of mutual importance.

The interaction concluded with an emphasis on continued cooperation between the state government and Project Brahmank as the BRO works to improve connectivity and strategic infrastructure across Arunachal Pradesh’s challenging terrain.
