With the aim to make facemasks mandatory, the Capital DFCSO Amit Bengia said on Sunday that no one will be allowed to purchase fuel or LPG cylinders in the capital region without a mask.
“No consumer will be allowed to buy fuel from the petrol depots if they do not wear masks,” Bengia said.
“We have decided to not provide LPG cylinders as well if the consumers do not follow the protocols,” he further said.
“The capital administration has taken a tough stand. We have to keep ourselves safe and follow the lockdown protocols,” Bengia further added.
Reacting to the order, the president of Capital Complex Petroleum Depot Association Arun Kipa Loram said, “We have passed the directions to all the petrol pump owners and managers.”
“We have specifically asked them to ensure that there is no negligence during working hours,” Loram added.
“We also request the consumers to follow the government orders and urge them to not violate the lockdown norms and wear masks when they step out to buy fuel,” Loram further said.
