The district administration has extended the night curfew under Section 144 of CrPC in the Capital Complex Region till May 31 from 7 pm to 5 am daily.

The Capital Complex consists of Itanagar, the state capital, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa.

This was informed on Monday by deputy commissioner Komkar Dulom while addressing a news conference in Itanagar.

Speaking about other restrictions and relaxations under Lockdown 4.0, Dulom said the previous order of opening of shops located on the left and right of National Highway 415 on alternate days stands as it is.

The business community has been asked to cooperate with the administration and ensure strict compliance of standard operating procedures like compulsory wearing of masks, social distancing etc while running their business, he said.

In regards to the quarantine facilities in the capital, the DC said the one at Police Training Centre in Banderdewa near here can accommodate 444 persons and out of which 119 is presently occupied.

Paid quarantine centres have also been set up by requisitioning 34 hotels in Itanagar and Naharlagun with a total of 608 rooms, he said.

Dolum said the BPL housing complex at Lekhi, around 17km from here, will start functioning as a state quarantine centre in the next 2-4 days.

The centre would be able to accommodate 200 persons initially and a total of 570 persons once it becomes fully functional, the DC said.

Dolum said the administration is expecting around 350 stranded students from various states to return to the capital soon.

He appealed the returnees to cooperate with the administration whilst in institutional quarantine and assured that the administrators, police and medical team are jointly supervising the facilities 24×7.

The concept of home quarantine is not being followed properly, hence we are emphasizing on institutional quarantine to contain the disease at the initial level, the DC said.
