Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul on Tuesday met Union Minister Annapurna Devi in New Delhi and discussed measures to strengthen women and child welfare programmes in the state.

The two ministers reviewed ongoing initiatives and discussed women-led development, child protection, nutrition and early childhood care, Pul said in a social media post.

They also discussed expanding opportunities for women and adolescent girls and strengthening measures for their safety, welfare and empowerment across Arunachal Pradesh.

Pul reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving the implementation of welfare schemes and ensuring their benefits reach people at the grassroots.

She also thanked the Union ministry for its initiatives to recognise and support Anganwadi Workers, Anganwadi Helpers and ASHA Didis, who form the frontline network for delivering essential services in communities.

Devi praised the recently held Agan Milan Sewa Sammelan of Anganwadi Workers and ASHA Didis in Arunachal Pradesh, appreciating the role of frontline workers in delivering women and child welfare services.

According to Pul, Devi assured full support and cooperation in addressing the issues raised during the meeting and strengthening welfare and empowerment initiatives in the northeastern state.

Pul thanked the Union minister for her guidance and continued support to Arunachal Pradesh, saying closer Centre-state coordination would help improve the delivery and reach of welfare programmes.
