A month’s rent has been waived off by several landlords in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, which has benefitted around 103 tenants.
The decision by the landlords comes in the wake of the ongoing nationwide lockdown, during which the tenants are facing a lot of issues.

The move has been initiated by the All-New Market Welfare Association (ANMWA), under which the owners of 18 shopping and residential complexes waived off a month’s rent from daily wage earners and small businessmen.
Most of these daily wage earners and businessmen belong to Assam, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
The establishments that waived off rent are Bero Gamlin, Rama Makcha, Lidu Lije, Domar shopping, Leriak, Kadu, Doyom, Marde, Gongo, Kulo, Tai Doyom, Rallen, Dagiam, Rilo, Kena, Tassar, Marpi Doyom, and Guha complexes.
