The district administration of Itanagar Capital Complex in Arunachal Pradesh has decided to impose complete lockdown from Monday till next Sunday as a precautionary measure in the wake of an alarming rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases.
This was informed by state chief minister Pema Khandu through his official Twitter handle on Saturday.

Khandu tweeted:
‘Itanagar capital complex will be under lockdown from 6th July (Monday) till 12th July (Sunday).
Detailed Guidelines and SOP for compliance will be issued shortly.

Khandu said the detailed guidelines and standard operating procedure (SOP) for compliance will be issued shortly.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, Arunachal Pradesh has so far witnessed 252 COVID-19 positive cases.
Among them 176 cases are active and 75 persons have so far been cured and discharged.
The State has so far witnessed one COVID-19 related deaths.
A 43-year-old Covid-19 positive patient died in Arunachal Pradesh on June 24 last, becoming the first casualty in the State.
The woman hailing from West Kameng was tested positive on June 23 last.
Notably, she was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
She was planning for kidney surgery transplant in New Delhi but due to the ongoing pandemic situation the procedure could not be done.
She came back to the State on June 11 last.
