Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in several parts of Arunachal Pradesh from Wednesday, August 19.
According to the weather agency, districts likely to receive heavy rainfall include Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Anjaw, Namsai, Changlang, Tirap and Longding, among others.
Weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled across the state on Thursday, with rain and thunderstorms likely in several areas.
The IMD has placed several districts across western, central and eastern Arunachal Pradesh under watch. Isolated instances of heavy rainfall are also likely in some areas, the agency said.
The forecast comes amid the risk of weather-related disruptions in vulnerable and hilly areas. Heavy rainfall may lead to temporary waterlogging, reduced visibility and disruptions to road connectivity.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to remain alert and exercise caution, particularly while travelling through hilly and vulnerable stretches.
