Arunachal Pradesh home minister Bamang Felix on Sunday visited Namsai district to take stock of the situation in the violence-hit area.
Felix who was accompanied by top Cops of the state assessed how the district administration and the police are handling the law and order in the district, following the escalating tensions between two communities in the district.

More than 14 people including security personnel were hurt as police opened fire in the air to disperse Khamti and Adi Students’ Union (AdiSu) activists who clashed at Jenthu Bridge in Namsai on Saturday.
During the review meeting, Felix directed the district administration and police to ensure safety of the people.
The home minister said he has been monitoring the situation closely.

In the meantime, he also met the Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and urged them to refrain from resorting to violence.
He asked them to volunteer to instil the sense of brotherhood and resolve issues amicably.
He convinced them that the state government will convene a round table involving all stakeholders on December 2 at Itanagar to find a permanent solution to the issue.
He further warned that any organization found to escalate or disturb the peace in the area would be dealt with iron hands.
The minister also informed that HODs, district administration officer, civil and senior police officer and CBOs leader from ABK, TKSU, TKDC, NAYWA and others have agreed to come for scheduled round table meeting on December 2next and have assured to maintain peace in the area.
The home minister was accompanied by DGP, IGP, MLAs Jikke Tako and Hayang Mangfi during the visit.
