The present chief conservator of forest, Eastern Arunachal Circle, Tezu, Gulap Singh, IFS has taken the additional charge of Central Arunachal Circle, Pasighat on Thursday.

Notably, Tasing Sitang Eko, IFS superannuated from the post of chief conservator of forest, Central Arunachal Circle, Pasighat.

While speaking in a farewell meeting of Tasing Sitang Eko, newly taken charge CCF, Gulap Singh said that, he will try to serve the purpose of protecting the forest resources while ensuring all the forest divisions under him to work keeping the larger interest of the environment and forest.

Singh said this when asked about what would be his step to regulate the unabated illegal felling of trees by unscrupulous persons in involved in the illegal timber businesses which are still flourishing in the region.

“I am trying to ensure for better protection of illegal destruction of forest, we have also arrested some such people doing illegal timber smuggling at our Tezu circle, but only forest department won’t be able to stop it completely”, added Singh.

While superannuating Tasing Sitang Eko who joined the department of environment & forest as ACF during 1983 said that, he had served the department with utmost sincerity and dedication.

He served in the various divisions like Yingkiong, Dibang, D Ering Wildlife Sanctuary etc as DFO and then as CF (HQ).

“Even after my retirement if the State Government requires my service, I am ready to serve more on voluntary ground advising the government on environment & forest issues”, added Eko.

Divisional forest officers from Pasighat Forest Division, Yingkiong, Aalo, Daporijo, Likabali also attended the programme.
