Lombo Tayeng, Advisor to the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister on Thursday said the Pema Khandu-led State Government was concerned about proper implementation of all pro-people State and Central Government flagship programmes launched to make the State free from poverty, corruption and filth.

The Government, he told during a public meeting at Siluk Dere under Mebo Subdivision, was committed to taking all welfare programmes to the doorsteps of the people besides strengthening the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Khandu in the State.

Tayeng, who is also the local MLA, highlighted various achievements including health and insurance, income generation and agriculture and horticulture promotion schemes, etc., undertaken by the Government to enhance the living standard of the people of the State.

He appreciated the role of the party functionaries and acknowledged their contributions in paving the way for rapid development of Mebo Sub-division on all fronts.

The MLA asked the district administration to create awareness amongst the people about all welfare schemes by conducting ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ at their doorsteps.

Later, Tayeng distributed roofing material (CGI sheet) to 97 families in Siluk village under the Non-Border Development Programme. He said that for the first time in the State’s history, Khandu and his deputy Chowna Mein made provision for allocating Rs 1 crore for the development of every block in the budget.

“As per provision, only 20% was permitted for sanitary and housing purposes. It was inadequate to provide CGI sheets to 97 families and therefore Rs 14 lakh was spared from the MLA discretionary fund,” he said, appealing to the people to ensure peace and harmony necessary for development.

East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak assured of clean and transparent administration.

He stressed on promoting ‘work culture’, adding that Government officials should be dedicated and sincere in delivering public services properly and timely.

“As announced by the local MLA, each flood affected family would get compensation soon. Please extend support and cooperation to the administration in implementation of all government flagship programmes in true spirit,” he said, advising the Gaon Burhas (GBs) to be impartial and apolitical.

Mebo ADC Hage Lailang said that his administration was all set to host ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ at Kiyit Government Higher Secondary School on September 17, as ordered by the DC. He asked the people to carry valid documents to avail required services on spot/camp.

A host of leaders, officers, GBs and villagers were present on the occasion. Prominent leaders D Libang, Aku Borang and Indu Yommin Doruk also spoke on the occasion.
