The Arunachal Pradesh government has ordered district the heads of the districts to ensure security of people from Jammu and Kashmir residing in the state.
State chief secretary Satya Gopal on Tuesday directed district authorities to take special care to ensure the safety and security of people from J&K, especially students from Kashmir valley, in any part of the State.
Gopal directed the district officials to keep a close vigil on traders and tourists and provide necessary safety and security to them.
The chief secretary asked the DCs and SPs to maintain maximum alert so as to pre-empt and prevent any breach of security or public order following scrapping of J&K.
He also asked officials to strictly strengthen Inner Line Permit checking in their respective districts and to keep a strict vigil especially in districts sharing borders with Assam and Nagaland.
