Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) B D Mishra (Retd) met Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed various issues related to Indian Air Force and ‘Pay Back to Society Group’ (PBSG) of serving armed forces officers from Arunachal Pradesh.
During the meeting, Arunachal Governor took up the issue of recruitment of youth from Arunachal Pradesh in the Indian Air Force with the Chief of Air Staff and requested him for his intervention.

The Arunachal Pradesh Governor went on to state that among the present 33 officers in Armed Forces, there are only four Air Force officers from Arunachal Pradesh.
Brig Mishra also pleaded with the IAF chief to allow the officers to come to the State to motivate the youth to join the Indian Armed Forces.
The Governor also took up the issue of IAF’s Dollungmukh firing range.

He stressed for a holistic approach with regard to the range with safety of the local population in top priority.
It is learnt that the Chief of Air Staff assured Arunachal Governor to personally look after the issue discussed in the meeting.
Later, Arunachal Pradesh Governor also met National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.
The duo discussed border area development along Arunachal Pradesh international border and other security related issues.
