Arunachal Governor lauds BRO for connectivity in remote areas

The chief engineer and officiating additional director general of Border Roads Organization (BRO)-East, P K H Singh called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra at the Raj Bhavan in Itanagar on Tuesday.

They discussed border road programmes in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Governor commended the BRO for construction and maintenance of roads in the remote and far-flung areas of the State.

He said that roads are the arteries of development and road connectivity is vital to bring progress and prosperity in the State.

The Governor urged upon the BRO to keep the roads open throughout the year for the ease of movement and the well-being of the people.

Development of tourism in the State, socio-economic growth of agrarian community and export of organic horticultural and agricultural produce largely depends on the good road connectivity, he underscored.

The Governor assured the visiting officer of all administrative help in the construction of roads in the State. He also advised the BRO to build up a good rapport with the local communities for smooth execution of projects.

R P Upadhyaya, Commissioner to Governor and Brig R S Rawal, Chief Engineer of Project Arunank were present in the meeting.
