Arunachal Governor inaugurates AVP’s Karyakarta Prant Sammelan

Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra on Sunday inaugurated the two-day silver jubilee programme and Karyakarta Prant Sammelan, 2019 of the Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) at Itanagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Arunachal Governor commended the AVP for their endeavour in rendering yeoman service towards the well being of the people.

“The AVP has been working for a quarter of century now in the State with utmost sense of duty and patriotism,” the Governor said while praising the contributions of AVP’s first visionary president Golgi Bate Talom Rukbo, a great son of the soil.

Mishra urged upon the AVP workers to promote ‘100 per cent nation first’ spirit amongst the people of Arunachal Pradesh and further advised them to continue to have patriotism as the soul of each and every AVP programme.

“If the nation is there, we are there. If our nation is secured, we are secure and if our nation develops, we develop,” he said.

While stating that Arunachal Pradesh has a rich cultural heritage and traditions, the Arunachal Governor said it must be maintained and preserved for securing cultural amity of the State.

Further emphasising women empowerment, the Arunachal Governor said respect for women, helping them in education as well as health and social security will ensure proper education, health and well-being all households.

The Governor also exhorted the AVP Karyakartas to focus on progressive engagement of young girls and boys in socially productive pursuit.

Mishra on the occasion felicitated the Arunachal Vikas Parishad for its commendable work in the socio-cultural development of different indigenous communities of the State.

Earlier, he lighted the inaugural lamp and paid tribute to Bharat Mata. He also released two documentary films on ‘Nocte Marriage ceremony’ and ‘Mishmi Birth system’ and the AVP’s annual calendar on the occasion.

All India Kalyan Ashram Shradha Jagran Pramukh, Ramesh Babu, Arunachal Vikas Parishad president, Techi Gubin and general secretary Gyati Rana also spoke on the occasion.

Tayum Tok, the vice-chairman of the silver jubilee year celebration felicitated the guests.

A large number of AVP workers, including former karyakatas from and outside the State, who have contributed in the activities of the organisation, are participating in the two-day Karyakarta Prant Sammelan, 2019.

Special invitees and cultural troupes from different communities are also taking part in the celebration.
