The Lohit district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has started distributing free rations to the daily wage earners and migrant workers.

The ration distributed on Sunday consisted of 10 kgs of rice, 2 kgs of pulses, a litre of mustard oil and a kg of mineral salt.

In all 131 families availed the free ration which was distributed at the daily bazaar line, Chai, Tankyline and DL line colonies and Machuwa camp areas in Tezu.

The district administration is identifying more such families and necessary relief package have been kept ready to be distributed to them in the following days.

The East Siang district administration has set up temporary relief camp in the district to shelter the homeless, including migrant laborers who remain stranded in the district due to the nationwide lockdown.

Dedicated helpline numbers 9436053326 and 9366853594 for shelter and other relief measures has also been setup by deputy commissioner Dr Kinny Singh.

Meanwhile, DMO Dr Kaling Dai informed that the blood sample collected at Bakin Pertin General Hospital from a co-passenger of Mizoram Covid-19 patient has been tested and its result is negative.
