The winning team of eighth Under-17 Boys’ State Level Subroto Mukerjee Cup Football Tournament was given a warm reception at Pasighat on Wednesday.

The team of East Siang represented by Government Secondary School, Motum under Mebo Sub-Division emerged champions of the tournament that concluded in Itanagar on Tuesday.
The felicitation was organized by the education department headed by DDSE, officials and representatives of DFA, ABK, ABKWW, ABKYW, AdiSU, students and staffs of GSS Motum etc.
The state champion team was warmly received at 2 Mile Check gate at the outskirt of Pasighat township.
The team was received by Jongge Yirang, deputy director of School Education, East Siang, DFA president, General Jamoh, Adi Baane Kebang, East Siang general secretary, Talut Siram and others.
The ABK Women Wing was led by vice president Jimmy Dai Doming, ABK Youth and AdiSU members besides student community and teaching staffs of GSS Motum.
All the people extended their best wishes to the winning team and suggested them to prepare well ahead of the national tournament likely to be held in the month of September next.
DDSE Yirang felt satisfied over his initiative of organizing a new pattern of Annual Sports Meet of Upper Primary School level since some couple of years ago whose results are being seen today where students are excelling in football.
The Annual Upper Primary School Level Games & Sports Meet at Mebo area is basically funded by Mebo local MLA Lombo Tayeng under his MLA LAD fund by sanctioning Rs five lakhs each year for the sports meet.
Gradually after the success of the sports meet in Mebo, DDSE Yirang extended the meet at 37th and 38th Pasighat also but it didn’t get much supports as like in Mebo by local MLA.
On their part, DFA president, General Jamoh, ABK East Siang general secretary, Talut Siram and others appreciated the hard work of the players and suggested them to play better in national level so as to make entire Arunachal Pradesh proud.
