Under Ekal Vidyalaya initiatives of Ekal Abhiyan, 30 sets of teaching-learning materials including books, pens, teaching board etc were distributed to 30 teachers under various villages of East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday.
Ekal Abhiyan All Arunachal Bhag Ghatibidi Pramukh and over all in-charge, Tanyi Taggu informed that similar distribution of teaching learning materials were also held at Siang, Upper Siang and West Siang districts with 60, 60 and 30 sets respectively.
Ekal Abhiyan’s Ekal Vidyalaya is involved in integrated & holistic development of rural and tribal India.
The main activity undertaken in this movement is to run one-teacher schools (known as Ekal Vidyalayas) all over India, in the remotest rural and tribal villages to take the education to every child.
Children up to Class-VI are given education under Ekal Vidyalaya, informed Tanyi Taggu of Ekal Abiyan Arunachal Unit.
Meanwhile, a meeting of all teachers of Ekal Abhiyan was also held at Siang Guest House later in the evening to train and make awareness about the importance of education in village level and how Ekal Vidyalaya can play their role in educating the children in rural villages.
Ramesh Limboo, All Arunachal Bhag Pramukh of Ekal Abhiyan, Ajit Tanti, Primary Teacher training in-Charge Arunachal East-I and others also attended the meeting, added Tanyi Taggu, All Arunachal Bhag Ghatibidi Pramukh and over all in-Charge.
