Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein laid the foundation stone of Bogong Banggo Kebang Market Complex at Pasighat on Sunday in presence of Lok Sabha Member Ninong Ering, former MP and state BJP chief Tapir Gao and Pasighat MLA Kaling Moyong.

Speaking on the occasion, Mein said that the oldest and centurion town of the state, Pasighat is the hub of the eastern parliamentary constituency.

“It is the best-connected town and also has the best medical and education facilities next to Itanagar with the lone State-run university, Arunachal University, coming up. With the establishment of Industrial Growth Centre at Niglok, it will also become the industrial centre of the state,” he said.

Congratulating the people of Pasighat, Mein lauded the efforts of community-based organisation Bogong Banggo Kebang and urged it to dovetail the market complex with the Smart City project so as to develop it into a modern market centre with all facilities with proper planning.

He said that the market complex, which would be established on an area of 1,25,000 sq metre, will provide employment opportunities to the youth. He assured all possible support from the state government for the establishment of the market complex.

Ering and Gao called for developing the market complex into a world-class centre with proper planning and design while Moyong highlighted various developmental activities taken up by the government in Pasighat.

Bogong Banggo Kebang president Oyem Dai and general secretary Mongol Gao related the history of the market complex.

MLAs Lombo Tayeng, Tatung Jamoh and Nyamar Karbak, DC Kinny Singh and SP Prashant Gautam were present on the occasion.
