Itanagar Capital Region district medical officer Dr Mandip Perme on Monday said all efforts are being made to trace both primary and secondary contacts of all COVID-19 positive cases that have been detected in the region of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Apart from the ongoing activities at the state quarantine centre in Lekhi, covid care centres and paid quarantines, efforts are on to trace out all the contacts of positive cases,” Dr Perme said.
The DMO said a total of 151 cases have been detected in the capital region so far out of which most were reported from quarantine facilities.
“Around 50 cases were reported outside the quarantine facilities due to local transmission with an epidemiological linkage with COVID-19 confirmed cases,” he said.
“In this regard, we have constituted five teams each for Itanagar and Naharlagun, who will be tracing the contacts, testing them and isolate any positive cases detected immediately,” he added.
The DMO said any person with influenza like symptoms will also be tested while random testing will also be conducted on shopkeepers, vegetable vendors and bank employees after a consultative meeting with the chamber of commerce.
The DMO has further appealed to the public to cooperate and to follow the SOPs issued by the State Government.
More than 31520 samples for COVID-19 testing have been collected in the State so far.
