Raga legislator Tarin Dakpe has donated his two months’ salary to the Kamle district administration for meeting up the expenses for the fight against COVID-19 in the district.

Appealing for concerted efforts from all the stakeholders in combating the pandemic, Dakpe, in the message to the people of the district also appealed them to restrain from all types of social gatherings.

“Instead of panicking, we should spread awareness about the virus and obey the directives from the health department in letter and spirit,” the MLA said.

“This will help us fight the pandemic,” he added.

Emphasizing on the role of religious and student leaders and village elders in mitigating the virus he appealed for intensive awareness through their social media accounts and WhatsApp groups.

Dakpe further appealed the public of the entire district to assist the administration and medical department in identifying people who have come back from different parts of the country to the district.

“Effective monitoring and ensuring that home quarantine is practised in letter and spirit can prevent the spread of COVID-19,” he said.

The legislator also lauded the efforts of Kamle deputy commissioner Hengo Basar and DRCHO Dr Kapu Sopin who have been personally visiting and verifying all the quarantine and isolation centres and ensuring that no stones are left unturned to combat the disease.
