Arunaachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu called on the Governor Brig (Retd) B.D. Mishra at Raj Bhavan here and tendered his resignation along with the council of ministers.
The governor accepted the resignation and requested Khandu and the council of ministers to perform their duties like caretakers till the new government is sworn in.

Under the provisions of Article 174 (2) (b) of the Constitution of India, the governor also accepted the advice of the cabinet and signed the order dissolving the sixth state assembly with immediate effect.
The governor conveyed his appreciation to Khandu for successfully running the state during his tenure as the chief minister.
If sources are to be believed, Khandu is likely to be sworn as new chief minister in on May 29.
