Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu on Saturday called on Governor Brig (Retd) B.D. Mishra at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar.

During the meeting, the Governor and the CM reviewed several ongoing developmental activities, programmes and projects in the state.

During the meeting, the Governor mooted for a concerted effort for strengthening the institutions which are taking care of the destitute, orphans and differently-abled children.

The planning for the next academic session of Sainik School in Niglok in East Siang district also figured in their discussion.

Besides discussing the programmes and functioning of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, the duo also discussed about expediting the Miao-Vijoynagar road project.

The Governor and CM also dwelled at length on the forthcoming 68th plenary of North Eastern Council (NEC) which is scheduled to be held in Guwahati on August 3 and 4.

“This meeting is an important event concerning the development of our state,” the Governor said.

Accordingly Khandu and Mishra deliberated on the important subjects and issues to be taken up with the NEC for the progress and wellbeing of the people of state.

The Governor emphasized that Arunachal must avail this opportunity for projecting and finalizing all the requisite developmental details at the plenary session of the NEC.

Earlier, the chief minister briefed Mishra about the meetings he had with various central ministers regarding the developmental plans in Arunachal Pradesh.
