The duo secured top honours in the categories of Non-Dairy Flowers and Cake Sculptures & Sugar Models

Pasighat: Renowned cake artists Chef Tacho Taggu and Chef Suresh Sabar have brought international recognition to India after winning two prestigious titles at the 4th Asia Cake Oscars (World Edition) held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on May 17.

Representing India at the global culinary competition, the duo secured top honours in the categories of Non-Dairy Flowers and Cake Sculptures & Sugar Models.

The event saw participation from leading culinary artists, pastry chefs and master bakers from across the world. Amid stiff international competition, the edible creations crafted by the Pasighat-based chefs drew attention for their intricate detailing, creativity and technical precision.

The latest achievement adds to the duoโ€™s growing list of accolades, following three consecutive national-level victories in recent years.

Speaking on the achievement, the chefs said they hoped their success would inspire aspiring culinary artists and entrepreneurs from the Northeast and other parts of the country.

โ€œWe want this achievement to motivate budding chefs and cake artists across Northeast India and beyond. Culinary entrepreneurship has immense potential when backed by dedication and mastery of the craft,โ€ they said.

Apart from participating in international competitions, the chefs are also engaged in training young aspirants through their venture, Sugar Arts Studio.

The Pasighat-based institute offers professional training in baking, confectionery and sugar art, with a focus on practical learning and entrepreneurship development.

According to the chefs, the academy is equipped with structured training facilities and is run by national award-winning culinary professionals with over a decade of industry experience. The institute conducts hands-on programmes aimed at helping beginners, home bakers and aspiring entrepreneurs develop sustainable careers in the culinary sector.
