Guwahati: Seven key Bills covering sectors such as fire safety, education, administration, taxation, urban planning and local governance were introduced in the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu tabled the Arunachal Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Bill, which seeks to strengthen the stateโs fire prevention and emergency response mechanisms while laying down provisions for improved fire safety standards in buildings and public premises.
Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona introduced the Arunachal Pradesh Transfer and Posting of Employees of Education Department (Regulation and Management) Bill. The proposed legislation aims to establish a comprehensive framework to regulate the transfer and posting of both teaching and non-teaching staff in the education department.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who holds the finance, planning and investment portfolios, presented two Bills โ the Arunachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill to amend the State GST Act of 2017, and the Arunachal Pradesh Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Amendment) Bill, which seeks changes to the FRBM Act of 2006.
Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing introduced the Arunachal Pradesh Local Authorities (Prohibition of Defection) (Amendment) Bill, proposing amendments to the existing law governing defections in local bodies.
In the urban development sector, Urban Affairs Minister Balo Raja tabled the Arunachal Pradesh Urban and Country Planning (Amendment) Bill aimed at strengthening the stateโs planning framework.
Additionally, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona introduced the Arunachal Pradesh Salaries, Allowances and Pension of Members of Legislative Assembly (Amendment) Bill.
The Bills seek to introduce new regulatory frameworks or amend existing laws in their respective sectors. They are expected to be taken up for detailed discussion in the Assembly in the coming days.
